Tried It Tuesday - Persuasive Writing

Happy Tuesday!  I am linking up with Holly at Fourth Grade Flipper for Tried It Tuesday.
My awesome Teacher Candidate, Kyra, has been teaching my grade 4's about procedure writing.  Today she tried an idea that everyone loved!  First, she created several little drawings using a variety of shapes and symbols.
Then, she had the children pair off with someone they each work well with.  Every person got a different picture.  They sat back-to-back and described the steps in order so the partner could recreate the picture without looking.  They used sequence words like "first", "then", "next", "finally".
Finally, they completed a reflection on strategies used to help the partner be successful.
It was a great idea!  Good job, Kyra!

  1. I love doing activities like this with the kiddos. It's always so fun to listen to them as they are giving instructions!
