Awesome Librarian!!

As you know, I have been fortunate enough to move into a brand new school with an incredibly beautiful library.  (Do you see the pretty green walls in the background?  I love that colour.  My husband calls it "Lisa green".)  We are also fortunate enough to have an awesome librarian who must never sleep and spends all of her free time making our library look great.  Today when I was in the library with my super cute Kindergarten reading buddies, I happened upon these owls.  Aren't they adorable?  There are many of them located in different corners and shelves in the library - handmade with love!
In another spot there is a Terry Fox display complete with books and a life size Terry Fox silhouette!  I can't imagine how long that took her to make!  Sorry - that photo didn't work.  For you Dr. Seuss lovers, this is up on one of the walls.
And one of my favourite things... Over the summer, she asked the students to have pictures of themselves taken reading in certain locations.  One wall has photographs and descriptions for each category, such as, Most unusual place to read, Most comfy place to read, Most uncomfortable place to read (this one's hilarious!), Farthest place from our city, Best reading spot in our city, Most active reading place, Cutest reading companion, Most unusual reading companion, and Most famous reading companion.  Thank you Miss A for keeping our library amazing!!

  1. Love the idea of the reading display! I am going to pass this on to my Media Specialist. She loves to display pictures of the students in the Library and always decorates ours so cute too! I'm convinced she doesn't sleep either. Thanks so much for sharing, Lisa!
